eIQnetworks’ SecureVue Achieves FIPS 140-2 Validation

NIST Cryptographic Security Certification Provides Accreditation to bolster Global Situational Awareness Risk Management (SARM) and Cyber Security

ACTON, MA – May 05, 2010 – eIQnetworks, Inc., the first Unified Threat and Compliance (UTC) Solution provider, announced today that its flagship SecureVue product has been fully validated under the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2.

Validated under the Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP), a joint accreditation effort between NIST and Canadian authorities, SecureVue’s FIPS 140-2 certification ensures that customers maintain privacy and integrity of their information security data within the SecureVue platform. “Cyber security and Situational Awareness is a critical issue for government agencies as they need to protect sensitive data from both external and internal threats,” said John Linkous, Chief Security and Compliance Officer at eIQnetworks. “FIPS 140-2 certification ensures that the confidentiality and integrity of critical security data is maintained, and provides assurance that cyber security and other advanced operations capabilities such as Situational Awareness, compliance reporting and Secure Configuration Assessment can be achieved effectively and efficiently. FIPS 140-2 validation is a significant milestone in our support for the most demanding civilian, military, and intelligence technology environments.”

Federal Information Processing Standards are publicly announced standards developed by the United States Federal government for use by all non-military government agencies and by government contractors. FIPS 140-2 covers the secure design and implementation of cryptographic modules, including: roles, services, and authentication; physical security; operational environment; cryptographic key management; electromagnetic interference/electromagnetic compatibility; selftests; design assurance; and mitigation of other attacks.

Validation of SecureVue’s advanced cryptographic module was conducted by SAIC, a fully-accredited Cryptographic Module Testing Laboratory that is part of the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP). In addition to achieving FIPS certification, SecureVue is currently in evaluation at EAL 2+.
