Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) Selects
eIQnetworks’ Unified Situational Awareness Platform
MHEC Offers SecureVue to its Members for IT Security and Compliance
Acton, Mass – Nov. 14, 2011 – eIQnetworks, Inc., the only global provider of a unified situational awareness solution, today announced that the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) is now offering eIQ’s SecureVue®, the industry’s first and only unified situational awareness platform, to its educational institutions that require enterprise–class IT security and compliance management. MHEC serves the Midwest, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
“eIQ not only brings the next generation security information and event management (SIEM) solution to MHEC's contract portfolio, but a much broader product offering that provides situational awareness, taking system data collection from a forensic analysis tool right through tactical response to strategic IT planning,” commented John Dunning, CIO, Wayne State College (NE) and chair, MHEC Technologies Committee. “In today's era of compliance demands and shrinking budgets, this partnership with eIQ presents a wonderful value proposition for institutions and other eligible entities to purchase through MHEC contracts.”
SecureVue is a highly scalable security and compliance monitoring platform that collects, correlates and analyzes far more security data than the log-only approach of SIEM. By utilizing all security information, SecureVue will provide institutions in MHEC member states with a single pane of glass into real-time security and compliance data. By delivering deeper network visibility, SecureVue will also allow immediate return on investment. MHEC contributes to the vitality of the Midwest by enhancing member states’ ability to maximize higher education opportunity and performance through collaboration and resource sharing. They deliver this promise through programs and services in cost savings, student access and success, and policy research and analysis.
“Today, institutions need to exercise extreme cost saving measures to remain efficient, affordable and competitive,” commented John Sullivan, eIQnetworks’ executive vice president & COO. “The newly formed relationship with eIQnetworks and MHEC delivers on this cost saving promise, allowing MHEC customers to reduce complexity, minimize effort and operational costs associated with managing security and compliance. Additionally, by offering SecureVue on the MHEC contract, the entire purchasing process has been streamlined for members. Implementing eIQ’s SecureVue unified situational awareness platform is a straight-forward strategy that delivers immediate cost savings for MHEC clients.”
MHEC evaluated several SIEM solutions before selecting eIQ’s SecureVue unified situational awareness platform.
eIQnetworks is well positioned in the education market and has gained significant momentum this year. The company also serves government and Fortune 5000 organizations in financial, telecommunications, retail and healthcare industries.
