eIQnetworks Signs OEM Licensing Agreement with NEC to Strengthen its Network Incident Event Management Capabilities

NEC Embraces eIQnetworks Network Security Analyzer™; Integrates Award-Winning Network Incident Management Solution with VALUMOware

Acton, MA – February 23, 2005 – eIQnetworks™, Inc. (www.eIQnetworks.com), a pioneer of comprehensive security and systems management solutions for the enterprise, today announced it has signed an OEM licensing agreement with NEC (NASDAQ:NIPNY), one of the world's leading providers of Internet, broadband network and enterprise business solutions, to enhance NEC’s VALUMOware product offering. Under the terms of the agreement, NEC will license eIQnetworks’ Network Security Analyzer™ (NSA), the industry’s first browser-based, multi-vendor network security event management solution.

As a result of this strategic partnership, NEC is embracing eIQnetworks’ industry-unique, holistic approach to security event monitoring, alerting and reporting capabilities across customers’ enterprise-wide network security infrastructure. Utilizing NEC VALUMOware network incident management product, customers will now be able to quickly gather, analyze, report and manage information generated by their network security devices.

NEC has been providing VALUMOware network management, integrated network operation and management solution for multi-vender network environment, for years and is going to launch network incident product of VALUMOware as a network security incident solution. VALUMOware network incident management product provides:

  • centralized management of security events from multi-vendor security devices.

  • tracking and isolation of a switch port connected to virus infected PC in the event of virus infection.

eIQnetworks’ NSA (which is called SecurityReporter in VALUMOware) helps to create and distribute reports of security log and traffic statistics on a periodic basis.
