SANS Institute Presents Security, Risk and Audit Management Webinar Spotlighting eIQnetworks

Online event to feature the Center for Internet Security’s Dave Shackleford and eIQnetworks’ Vijay Basani

ACTON, Mass. – January 15, 2008  – eIQnetworks®, Inc., a global provider of integrated security, risk and audit management solutions, and the SANS Institute today announced a complimentary webinar, “Going Beyond Log Management to Solve Security, Risk and Audit Challenges,” to be held on Wednesday, January 23 at 1 p.m. ET.

Over the past several years, security, network and audit teams have focused on obtaining more and better data to support security and compliance initiatives. As a result, logs have been collected, data has been generated, and audit frameworks and compliance controls have been put in place. However, logs only represent one of the data sources that need to be part of a comprehensive security, risk and audit management program.

Recent high-profile security breaches and ID theft incidents, along with newer regulations like PCI-DSS, highlight the importance of correlating and analyzing log management with vulnerability, configuration, asset, performance and network behavioral anomaly data in order to solve ever-increasing security, risk and audit challenges.

Webinar participants will discover:

  • The benefits of going beyond log management to perform end-to-end correlation and analysis;

  • How combining other critical security data with log data helps identify hard-to-find problems;

  • How compliance ties into the use of security technologies; and

  • Why the future of security information management (SIM) systems is shaping up to integrate security, risk and audit management onto one platform that addresses both regulatory and security challenges.

The webinar will be hosted by Dave Shackleford, a vice president at the Center for Internet Security and feature Vijay Basani, CEO and co-founder of eIQnetworks.

Prior to his position with the Center for Internet Security, Shackleford was the CTO of a security consulting firm, and he has also worked as a security architect, analyst, and manager for several Fortune 500 companies. His areas of expertise include incident handling and response, intrusion detection and traffic analysis, and vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.

eIQ’s Basani has more than twenty years of experience in the technology and financial industries. Prior to starting eIQnetworks in 2001, he founded both AppIQ, Inc., an application storage resource management provider that was acquired by Hewlett-Packard in October 2005, and WebManage Technologies, Inc. that was acquired by Network Appliance, Inc. in August 2000.
